One today, one tomorrow – these star maps are something I’ve come up with after extensive use of the great and fun program, Celestia. It’s very easy to use, it’s free, and it’s a high quality program. If I ever get up my technical chops, we may make some Starmada Comics add-ons for Celestia. Of course, we’d be happy to display any such add-ons created by our readers (or any fan art).
This first map is showing what first-generation space merchant ships would be capable of visiting. Some of these stars are more of a stretch for the first generation of Crenixian Type-I drives, but with proper lading, merchant ships can visit any of these star-stations. The average light-year distance between these stars is about 5 light years.
This was the first level of human colonization. There were other star-stations established, however most of these were restricted to military vessels because they could travel the further (and classified) distances.
